Wilh. Becker GmbH & Co. KG Hahnreiter Gewindetechnik is a long-established company based in Remscheid, in the heart of the Bergisches Land region. For over 150 years, we have stood for high-quality tools ‘Made in Germany’, as well as for reliability, precision and innovation. Founded in the 19th century, the company developed from a small tool factory into an internationally renowned brand. A significant milestone came in 1974 with the merger with Ernst Birgden HAHNREITER Präzision, from which the HAHNREITER brand name emerged. Today, we manufacture across a site of around 3,450 m² and supply to more than 40 countries.
The company has been run by the Becker family for over six generations. Since 2025, Wilh. Becker GmbH & Co. KG Hahnreiter Gewindetechnik has been managed by Niklas Harzer, who is responsibly continuing and developing this successful tradition. In addition to tool manufacturing, we offer services in various grinding technologies. With the establishment of Schweißtechnik Remscheid GmbH & Co. KG in 2012, we have expanded our range of services to include friction and flash butt welding.
Milestones from over 150 years of precision
The company “Wilh. Becker Werkzeugfabrik” was founded. Johann Daniel Becker had already begun manufacturing screws and taps in the 1830s.
Production resumed at the Kronprinzenstraße site, covering an area of 200 m². This was followed by a steady expansion of the machinery.
Merger with “Ernst Birgden HAHNREITER Präzisionswerkzeuge”. This resulted in the formation of “Wilh. Becker oHG HAHNREITER PRÄZISION Werkzeugfabrik”.
Relocation of the entire production facility to the Überfeld industrial estate (“Auf dem Knapp”) to a site covering approximately 3,450 m².
Establishment of Schweißtechnik Remscheid GmbH & Co. KG at the same location, managed by brothers Wilhelm and Christian Becker.
A change of name and the introduction of a new company logo that reflects the company’s modern direction.
Niklas Harzer is taking over Wilh. Becker GmbH & Co. KG Hahnreiter Gewindetechnik, where he will responsibly continue and build on the company’s successful tradition.
